If your looking for a spinning reel to handle casted baits for big sharks in the surf, look no further than the Penn 9500 SS.  This reel was recently discontinued by PENN, but it is still easily found.  These reels were made in the USA.  Don’t confuse this bad boy with the 950ssm, there really is no comparasin.  It is an awesome reel that is up to the task of catching big fish.  I have one filled with 500 yards of 65lb power pro and it’s been in constant use for me for 4 years, with no problems.
